Braking Distance Calculator

When you are driving a car, you need some distance to stop the car. If you speed up, more distance is needed.

The distance to stop will be divided into the free running distance and the braking distance.

  • Free running distance: When you notice the situation you must stop, but it takes some time for you to push the brake pedal. Your car will go ahead before you push the pedal.
  • Braking distance: Upon you push the brake pedal, your car will slow down, but it needs some distance to stop.
