When a child get the flu, he/she cannot go to school/kindergarten for a certain period. After recovery, he/she should stay home for several days, to protect other children from getting the flu. School Health and Safety Act(学校保健安全法) defines the period of exclusion from school/kindergarten attendance.
How to Calculate the Period?
Suspension of Attendance in Japan:
- 5 days since get infected (excluding the infected day)
- 2 days (elementary school) / 3 days (kindergarten) since get recovered (excluding the recovered day)
