High-Cost Medical Expense Benefit

Japan Health Insurance offers High-Cost Medical Expense Benefit, which caps the self-pay of medical care.

Ordinary, patients in Japan pay 30% of the medical costs, but repeated visits or hospitalization may be a burden. High-Cost Medical Expense Benefit will pay back to the patients. For more info, see Japan Health Insurance Association (written in Japanese.)

When you get return via High-Cost Medical Expense Benefit three or more times in the last 12 months, self-pay cap will be lowered.
